Granada MassKara dancers to represent Bacolod at Sinulog Sa Sugbo World 2025

Bacolod City, led by Mayor Albee Benitez and the Bacolod City Tourism Office, announced that the Barangay Granada MassKara Festival Dancers are ready to represent the city at the highly anticipated Sinulog sa Sugbo World 2025, a press release from the Bacolod City Tourism Office said.

A courtesy call and send-off ceremony was held yesterday to honor their participation in the event.

Organized by the Cebu City Government, in collaboration with the Sinulog Foundation, Inc., Sinulog is widely celebrated as the “Mother of All Festivals.” It highlights the vibrant culture and traditions of various cities across the Philippines, perfectly complementing Bacolod City’s world-famous MassKara Festival.

Joining the send-off were notable figures, including Councilor Jason Villarosa, STTM Marty Go, Chief Tourism Operations Officer Teresa Manalili, Punong Barangay Armando “Nogi” Vito, choreographers Joedem Casabuena and Philip Lamirez, and Tourism Officers Liana Reynes, Meneil Lopez, Darlwin Sales, and Melaniña Antoniano.

The delegation, consisting of 60 dancers and 100 propsmen, is scheduled to depart for Cebu on January 15 and will perform during the Grand Parade on January 19.

Vito expressed confidence in their readiness for the event, “The props and costumes have been enhanced, and the dance and song have been revised to fit this year’s theme. We’ve worked hard to ensure our performance surpasses last year’s. Our goal is to always deliver our best.”

Manalili emphasized the exceptional talent and dedication of the dancers, “These performers were carefully selected because they emerged as the champions of the MassKara Festival Dance Competition. Their victory reflects not only their skill and artistry but also their unwavering passion and commitment to representing Bacolod City on a national stage. We are confident that they will shine at Sinulog 2025, showcasing the best of our city’s culture.”

The group will receive a P1.5 million subsidy from the Sinulog Foundation, highlighting the significance of their role in representing Bacolod City.

With the theme “One Beat, One Dance, One Vision,” Sinulog 2025 promises grand activities such as the Grand Parade, Street and Stage Dancing, Festival Queen Competition, and Ritual Showdowns.

The event provides a platform for the Barangay Granada MassKara dancers to showcase Bacolod City’s unique heritage, cultural excellence, and vibrant artistry while strengthening the bond between Bacolod and Cebu.*
