The Jetour Dashing Lightning Dunkers beat the Jetour T2 IDM Crushers in the first game where the Dunkers opened the game in impressive fashion on both ends of the floor, leading to a 31-17 advantage after the first quarter.
They increased their advantage in the second quarter, building a huge nineteen-point halftime lead. The back-and-forth affair continued in the third as the Crushers outscored the Dunkers by two points, and after a hotly contested final period, the Dunkers won in a convincing fashion with a final score of 94-73.
Mark Ligan led the Jetour Dashing Lightning Dunkers with 20 points, along with player of the game honors. Dodoy Agana netted 17 points while James Garrucho furnished 15 points.
Mico Yee paced the Jetour T2 IDM Crushers with 19 points, as Mickey Bernabe generated 15 points followed by Ronald Delada with 10 points.
The other game was between the Chery Tiggo Touring Guardians and the Chery Tiggo 5 Hybrid Warriors, where both teams played a tight battle that went down to the wire and was only decided in extra time.
The Guardians looked better early on, taking a 23-21 lead in the first quarter, but were held to a single digit quarter by the Warriors and trailed by 9 points at the break, 41-32.
It was a nip and tuck affair in the third which ended in the Guardians favor with a 19-18 quarter score. The Warriors tried to keep their lead in the fourth but when Randy Colonia fouled out with more than seven minutes remaining, it changed the game completely, as the Guardians were able to slowly catch up until they tied the game with 6 seconds remaining.
Arvin Espinitra, who had sunk 3 buckets from beyond the arc, took the last shot for the Warriors, which ended up with the ball just kissing the rim.
Even though the Warriors fought bravely and never surrendered, the Guardians iced the game in the overtime period, 90-87.
Nike Montalvo led the way for Chery Tiggo Touring Guardians with 24 points. Kelvin Gatoc delivered 15 points and player of the game honors, while Michael Deocadiz and Darwyn Sadie posted 14 and 12 points, respectively.
Randy Colonia led Chery Tiggo 5 Hybrid Warriors with 19 points, Harvey Eslawa followed with 18, while Arvin Espinitra notched 12.*
