The Subli artists from Guimaras and Iloilo have an ongoing art exhibit titled “Dagsa” at Gallerie G, Villa Geronca Bldg., Rosario-Amapola streets, Bacolod City which opened on October 19 and will run for a month.

Dagsa, a Hiligaynon term evoking a surge or rush, underpins this exhibition, inviting us to ponder the intricate interplay between personal narratives and collective movements—the ever-shifting currents of life.
A rich tapestry of artworks unfolds, delving into the multifaceted nature of “dagsa.” The exhibition examines the personal and societal reverberations of swift transformation, the potent undertow of collective action, and the intricate dance of individual aspirations amidst societal expectations. This exploration invites us to engage with the complexities of change and connection, an artist statement from the group said.

“As we traverse the exhibition, we witness the personal and societal impacts of rapid transformation. Individual narratives emerge, woven into the larger tapestry of societal change. We witness the powerful tide of collective action, its ability to shape both individual destinies and the course of history. We observe the intricate dance between individual aspirations and societal expectations, the delicate balance between personal freedom and societal constraints, it said.
Through this exploration, we are invited to engage with the complexities of change and connection. We are challenged to consider our own experiences within the broader context of societal currents. We are encouraged to reflect on the ways in which our individual choices intersect with the collective movements that shape our world, the statement said.
This exhibition is more than just a collection of artworks; it is an invitation to journey inward and outward, to explore the depths of our own experiences and the complexities of the world around us. It is a reminder that we are all interconnected, caught up in the ebb and flow of life’s currents.*
