A week-long gun ban will be enforced in Bacolod City, in coordination with the upcoming celebration of the 30th Panaad sa Negros Festival.
According to Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) OIC Director Police Colonel Eugene Rebadomia, the suspension of Permits to Carry Firearms Outside of Residence will take effect starting at 12:01 a.m. on April 13 and will last until 11:59 p.m. on April 19.
Rebadomia urged responsible gun owners to refrain from bringing guns inside the festival site.
In terms of security logistics, the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office will be responsible for security within the Panaad Park and Stadium, while the Bacolod City Police Office will manage security and traffic outside the festival grounds.
He said that they are expecting to deploy more than 100 personnel around the Panaad perimeters.*
