A series of buy bust operations on July 18 in Negros Occidental led to the apprehension of four drug suspects, the recovery of an unlicensed firearm, and P150,000 worth of suspected shabu and dried marijuana leaves.
About 10 grams of suspected shabu with a market value of P68,000 and P1,600 in marked money were recovered by the police during a buy bust operation at Zone 1 in Brgy. Mambulac. Also nabbed was Albert Cabayaran, 38, of the place.
Another buy bust operation at Purok 1 in Brgy Aguisan, Himamaylan City, also led to the arrest of John Paul Lirazan and John Patrick Apalacio.
The apprehension of Lirazan and Apalacio yielded another 10 grams of suspected shabu with a market value of P68,000 and P500 in marked money.
The Himamaylan police also recovered dried marijuana leaves, a caliber .22 revolver, and assorted illegal drugs paraphernalia from Lirazan.
Another police operation at Purok Bulao in Brgy. Central Tabao Valladolid, on July 16 also resulted in the arrest of another drug suspect identified by the police as Jhon Vincent.
The implementation of the search warrant issued by Judge Mary Jennifer Protasio Arches led to the seizure of about two grams of suspected shabu with a market value of P13,600 and its paraphernalia.*
