Motorcycle-riding gunmen yesterday shot and killed a 40-year-old son of a businessman at the corner of BS Aquino Drive and Lacson Street in Bacolod City, near a police station.
The victim, who died on the spot, was identified by the police as Jeffrey Keng Seng, 40, of Brgy. 1, Bacolod City.
The gunshots were even heard by Police Station 2 personnel, who immediately responded to the incident.
Police investigations show that the victim, who was positively identified by his 74-year-old father, John Keng Seng, was driving his Nissan Patrol vehicle in a westerly direction when he was shot several times by the suspects who were on board an unidentified vehicle.
The vehicle of the injured victim hit a fence of a vacant lot at the corner of Gatuslao-BS Aquino Drive. The two suspects, on the other hand fled towards a west direction, police said.
PLt. Joevito Pastrana, deputy Police Station 2 chief, disclosed that they are looking at two possible motives behind the shooting incident, including property dispute and personal grudges.*
