Policemen seized guns and ammunition during a raid on July 12 in Bago City, Negros Occidental, that resulted in the arrest of a suspect for illegal possession of firearms and ammunition.

Armed with a search warrant issued by Judge Jennifer Protacio-Arches, operatives of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group, Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office Intelligence Unit, assisted by troopers of the Provincial Mobile Force Company, the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 6, and local police, swooped down on the residence of Leo Decatoria in Purok Riverside, Brgy. Ma-ao, Bago City.

The joint operation yielded two .45 caliber pistols with a magazine containing four ammunition, and three live ammunition for a .38 caliber revolver.

Decatoria failed to present documents that allow him to possess the firearms, the Bago City Police Station said. The firearms and ammunition were placed under the custody of the Bago CPS while Decatoria was brought to the CIDG Provincial Field Unit office at Camp Alfredo Montelibano Sr. in Bacolod City.*
