Assorted guns and explosives were seized by the police during a raid Victorias City, while two Comelec gun ban violators were arrested on Sunday in San Enrique, both in Negros Occidental.
Armed with a search warrant issued by Silay Regional Trial Court Judge Dyna Doll Chiongson-Trocio, joint operatives of the Victorias City Police Station and PNP Special Action Force troopers swooped down on the residence of Ricardo Pedroso, in Brgy XI, Victorias City, on Saturday.
The search for firearms and explosives led to the arrest of Pedroso, 57, and his son, Marvin, 27.
Recovered from the residence of Pedroso were a Para-Ordnance caliber .45 pistol with a magazine containing ammunition, a .22 caliber revolver, an improvised 1- gauge shotgun with ammunition, assorted ammunition, an MK26 hand grenade, and a 40mm M203 high explosive.

Two laborers were apprehended by the police on Sunday at Sitio Nasunugan in Barangay Batuan, San Enrique, Negros Occidental.
The arrest of two siblings, identified as Ronie Gonzales, 32, and his elder brother, Aljun, 33 both laborers and residents of Sitio Pasil, Barangay Tabao Baybay, San Enrique, for violation of the Comelec gun ban, yielded a Colt caliber .45 pistol with two magazines containing 15 ammunition, a magnum .357 Smith and Wesson revolver with 25 ammunition, and a hand held radio set.
Their arrests took place after the San Enrique police were informed by a concerned town resident, of the presence of two armed men roaming around the area.
A total of 34 liquor ban violators were also arrested during a joint operation of the police and Army soldiers on May 11 in Bacolod City.*
