Separate police operations led to the recovery of suspected shabu and guns from three arrested suspects on July 23 and 24, in Negros Occidental

The apprehension of a certain alias Joshua on July 24 during a buy bust operation in Barangay 39, Bacolod City, led to the confiscation of about 15 grams of suspected shabu with a market value of P102,000.

The implementation of a search warrant by the police on July 23 in Hacienda Basa, Brgy. 10, Victorias City, also led to the arrest of a 62-year-old hacienda overseer, according to the police.

The raid, which was conducted by virtue of a search warrant issued by Judge Leonardo Facultad, yielded a caliber .22 revolver with five ammunition, a homemade shotgun and a 19-inch ice pick.

A 58-year-old farmer was also arrested by the police on Tuesday in Brgy. Ilaya, Calatrava, Negros Occidental, for illegal possession of firearms.

His apprehension yielded a caliber .45 pistol with a magazine containing ammunition. Upon checking his sling bag, the police also recovered another steel magazine containing seven more ammunition, according to the police.

The three apprehended suspects, whose identities were withheld by the authorities, are now locked up in jail.*
