Guns, shabu seized in police ops

The series of police operations on March 31 in Negros Occidental led to the seizure of unlicensed firearms and illegal drugs from three arrested suspects.

A 32-year-old farmer, identified as alias Alimar, was apprehended during a raid at Hacienda Fe in Barangay XII, Victorias City, which was conducted by the police by virtue of a search warrant issued by the Silay Regional Trial Court.

The raid, which was a joint operation of the Victorias City Police Station and PNP Special Action Force, led to the confiscation of a caliber .38 revolver with three ammunition, an improvised 12-gauge shotgun with 12 ammunition, and a sling bag.

A buy bust operation at Purok Nabantuan 1 in Barangay Balintawak, Escalante City, led to the arrest of an alias Ermilo and the recovery of an improvised caliber .45 pistol with two magazines containing 12 ammunition, an estimated 0.52 grams of suspected shabu and its paraphernalia, P500 in marked money, and a black gun holster.

The apprehension of alias Donne in Barangay 4, Hinigaran, Negros Occidental, yielded 10 sachets of suspected shabu valued at P6,800, a caliber .45 pistol with a magazine containing five ammunition, P500 in marked money, and an improvised glass tooter with suspected shabu residue.

On the other hand, a 47-year-old laborer surrendered a caliber .38 revolver with the 1st Negros Occidental Provincial Mobile Force Company at  Purok Sunshine in Barangay E. Lopez, Silay City.*
