Guns, shabu seized in police ops

Four suspects are now locked up in jail in Negros Occidental, following their arrests on Monday for illegal possession of firearms and violation of RA 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002.

A laborer identified as Felix Aparico Jr., 48, was apprehended by the police, after a homemade 12-gauge shotgun with ammunition was recovered during a raid at his residence on May 29 at Purok Bugo in Brgy. Tabugon, Kabankalan City.

Judge Rodney Magbanua signed the search warrant, which was served by operatives of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group, who were assisted by the Kabankalan City police, that led to the recovery of the firearm and arrest of the suspect.

The arrest of Emard Water during a buy bust operation at Teachers Village in, Brgy. RSB, La Carlota City, also yielded an estimated five grams of suspected shabu with a market value of P34,000, marked money of P500, and a .38 caliber revolver with four ammunition.

Another buy bust operation in Sitio Pasil, Brgy, Mambulac, Silay City, also led to the arrest of Michael Dionson and the recovery of about 10 grams of suspected shabu with a market value of P68,000, marked money of P100, a .38 caliber revolver with three ammunition, and a black Bajaj motorcycle.

A tricycle driver identified as Alex Juen, 62, was also arrested by the police on Monday for creating alarm and scandal at Villa Luisa in Brgy. Luna, Cadiz City.

The apprehension of Juen, who was under the influence of liquor, also yielded a caliber .45 Colt pistol with six ammunition.*
