A series of raids and buy bust operations in Negros Occidental on January 30, led to the arrest of four suspects, recovery of two unlicensed firearms, and seizure of about P27,000 worth of suspected shabu.

The implementation of a search warrant in Sitio Abacahan, Brgy. Guiljungan in Cauayan on Tuesday led to the arrest of a 48-year-old farmer, identified by the police only as a certain Eduardo.

The raid, which was conducted by virtue of an arrest warrant issued by Judge Rodney Magbanua, also yielded a caliber .45 pistol with four magazines containing ammunition, according to a report of the Cauayan Police Station.

Another raid conducted by the police at Purok Mabuhay in Brgy. Maao, Bago City, also led to the arrest of a 68-year-old laborer for illegal possession of firearms and ammunition.

The arrest of the suspect, whose identity was withheld by the Bago City police, yielded a caliber .357 Magnum revolver with nine ammunition, 67 ammunition for caliber .45 pistol and caliber .22 revolver, and a sling bag.

Meanwhile, two drug suspects were apprehended by the police in separate buy bust operations in cities of Himamaylan and Talisay in Negros Occidental, which yielded an estimated four grams of suspected shabu with a market value of P27,200.*
