Policemen recovered assorted firearms with ammunition and an explosive, during a raid on September 28 at Purok Marapara in Brgy. Bata, Bacolod City that also led to the arrest of a suspected gunsmith.
Armed with a search warrant issued by Judge Edgar Tupaz, a composite team of City Police Intelligence Unit led by PLt. Col. Joeffer Cabural and Police Station 3 led by PCapt. Armilyn Vargas swooped down on the residence of Ruel Amonin, 51.
The raiding team recovered a .38 caliber revolver with two ammunition, a KG-9 automatic pistol with two magazines containing 13 ammunition, three cartridges of 12-gauge shotgun, a hand grenade, and various gun assembly tools.
Cabural said they received reports that Amonin is engaged in the repair of guns, which prompted them to apply a search warrant that led to the successful police operations.*
