Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson yesterday signed a Memorandum of Agreement with various schools and universities in the province, for the Student Internship Program with the Negros Occidental provincial government.

The partner schools who joined the ceremonial signing were University of St. La Salle – Bacolod, STI-West Negros University, Bacolod City College, Carlos Hilado Memorial State University, University of Negros Occidental- Recoletos, Central Philippines State University, and Sum-ag National High School.

Lacson advised the student-interns to take full advantage of the chance to learn, grow, and acquire valuable opportunities to gain practical experience and bridge the gap between the academe and the actual workplace.

“Your internship training will not only provide a platform to apply your knowledge but also expose you to new perspectives and will be a factor in shaping you into well-rounded professionals,” he said.

Lacson also thanked the partners in the academe for their commitment and support in guiding the students to become successful professionals and responsible members of the community.

The Capitol Internship Program is facilitated by the Provincial Human Resource Management Office.

The activity, which was held at the Provincial Capitol Social Hall in Bacolod City, was also attended by Provincial Administrator Atty. Rayfrando Diaz, deans and faculty of partner schools, Capitol department and office heads, and student-interns, among others.*
