A minor and two others were injured in separate hacking and shooting incidents on July 17 and 18, respectively, in Negros Occidental, with one of the suspects already having been accounted for by the police.
Rey Susada reported to the police that his son, a minor, sustained a gunshot injury at his left ankle.
The victim claimed that he and his companions were allegedly shot while on their way home yesterday by an unidentified suspect at Menlo Phase 2 in Brgy. Zone 10, Talisay City.
The minor is now being treated for his injury at the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital in Bacolod City, while the police has yet to identify the suspect.
Girly Melgar Salado is currently under police custody after she was arrested by the police on July 17, for her involvement in a hacking incident at Purok Ipil in Brgy. Vito, Sagay City.
Police investigations showed that the suspect and her husband, Cristobal Salgado, were engaged in a drinking spree when her brother, Perlito Melgar, arrived.
Heated arguments ensued between the two siblings, which later led to a hacking incident, according to the police.
Melgar, 46, suffered minor injuries on his right arm and wrist, when he was hacked by his sister.
The victim is now being treated for his injuries at the Vicente Gustilo District Hospital in Escalante City.
Heated arguments also led to the hacking of Joemarie Mercado, also on Monday at Sitio Calansi in Brgy. Mambagaton, Himamaylan City.
Initial police investigations showed that Mercado and his wife, Lucy, were on their way home on board a passenger tricycle when they were waylaid by the suspect, identified by the police as Christian Mendoza, who positioned himself in the middle of the road.
Armed with a sugarcane cutter, the suspect hacked the victim on the head, neck, and left arm, after a heat argument between him and the victim.
Mendoza immediately fled after the hacking incident, while the victim was brought to a hospital in Bacolod City, for treatment of his injuries.*
