Handumanan home catches fire

• CHRYSEE G. SAMILLANO

A house in Purok San Roque Uno, Barangay Handumanan, Bacolod City was damaged by fire Sunday evening resulting in the destruction of about P29,460 worth of property.

Reports from the Bureau of Fire Protection said that the house was owned by Delilah Balinas. No injuries were reported during the incident.

Meanwhile, Bacolod City firefighters led by FSupt. Jenny Mae Masip, City Fire Marshal, conducted a full attendance check yesterday as the Bureau of Fire Protection remains on full alert status (Code Red) following the eruption of Mt. Kanlaon Volcano. This is to keep them prepared to be able to provide immediate assistance to communities at risk.

Masip also updated the firefighters on a low pressure area (LPA) entering the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), raising concerns of potential lahar flows in areas affected by the recent ash fall.*
