The Police Regional Office 6 ordered all provincial and city police directors in Western Visayas to heighten police visibility and strictly observe PNP Operational Procedures in all police actions, especially in dealing with rallyists, in line with today’s State Of the Nation Address of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
In a statement, PBrig. Gen. Jack Wanky, regional police director of Western Visayas, said there will be maximum deployment of police personnel in identified strategic areas across the region, which includes police visibility through mobile and foot patrols, checkpoints in identified strategic areas, and other anti-criminality interventions.
Wanky also placed on standby the civil disturbance management platoons, working closely with other government agencies with mandates on safety and security, and the local government units, as well.
Ensure that our personnel are visible and felt by the people so that the general public will feel safe and secure, he reminded the six provincial police directors and two city police directors of Western Visayas.
He also urged rallyists to police their ranks, ensuring that public demonstrations do not cause inconveniences or disturbances to commuters and the general public.
“Additionally, we are closely coordinating and collaborating with other government agencies with mandates on safety and security, and the local government units,” Wanky said.*
