The Himamaylan City reinforces its medical services as two new patient transport vehicles (PTVs) arrive this month, a press release from Himamaylan PIO said.
One PTV worth P5 million that arrived earlier this month was acquired under the Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Fund.
“This is part of the city government’s DRRM plan to augment our services and strengthen preparation in times of emergencies,” said Mayor Raymund Tongson.
On September 19, Himamaylan was among the 51 local government units in Western Visayas who received the PTVs under the Medical Transport Vehicle Donation Program (MTVDP) PCSO Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office, Office of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr.
Himamaylan is one of the 19 LGUs in Negros Occidental that received a PTV.
Tongson, who personally joined the turnover at the Plaza Paloma in Passi City, said, “Himamaylan City is grateful to PCSO and President Bongbong Marcos for this new vehicle. It will definitely aid more Himamaylanon patients.”
“With these new PTVs, our response operations have become more efficient and effective,” he added.*
