A 47-year-old fisherman was killed in a knife attack in Himamaylan, while a member of the LGBTQ community succumbed to his injuries after being stabbed by his lover in Moises Padilla on Monday.
In Himamaylan City, police investigation revealed that the victim was having a drinking session with a friend at a store in Barangay Aguisan when the suspect, alias Jojo, 42, a fish vendor, arrived and grabbed the victim.
The victim took a bottle of beer and attempted to strike the suspect but failed to hit him. The suspect then ran outside, chased by the victim.
When the victim caught up, the suspect suddenly stabbed him multiple times in the chest with a bladed weapon, resulting in his death.
Authorities have launched a hot pursuit operation against the suspect, who fled the scene after the incident.
Meanwhile, in Moises Padilla, police reported that a 28-year-old laborer who is also a member of the LGBTQ community sustained injuries after being stabbed by his live-in partner during a heated argument at the New Stockyard, Barangay 1.
Investigation revealed that the suspect, alias Kalbo, 26, and the victim, who was his lover, were together after a drinking session and were about to have dinner when they engaged in a heated argument, regarding a spider they had caught.
During the argument, Kalbo suddenly stabbed the victim, hitting various parts of his body, causing his death.
The suspect remains at large, and the immediate family of the victim is planning to file charges against him.*
