An unidentified gunman shot and killed a local government unit job order employee on Friday at Sitio Lapak Kawayanan in Barangay Robles, La Castellana, Negros Occidental.
The victim, identified by the police as Julio Calo, 49, a job order employee of the Himamaylan City government, was shot by a gunman while he was standing in front of his residence.
The suspect fled on board a white sport utility vehicle, heading towards the poblacion of La Castellana.
The victim was declared dead on arrival at the La Castellana Rural Health Unit.
Calo was also reported as an anchorman of a community FM station.
In an interview with RMN-DYHB, Robles barangay chairman Rolando Torres said that the victim had no pending complaints in the barangay.
La Castellana police probers are still establishing the motive for his killing.*
