The Hinobaan Rural Health Unit and its birthing facility were temporary closed by Mayor Ernesto Estrao, after 12 of its 32 personnel tested positive for Covid-19.
Estrao said yesterday that he advised those seeking treatment at the Hinobaan RHU to go to the Eleuterio Decena Memorial Hospital, or to their barangay health centers, as infected MHO personnel are now under quarantine.
The 12 infected health personnel are being quarantined at the Kantinable Resort, two other employees are under strict home quarantine, 11 are staying in quarantine facilities, and one was admitted at the Silliman University Medical Center in Dumaguete City.
The close contacts of infected health personnel were also swabbed, he added.
Estrao said the Hinobaan MHO may reopen on June 28.
The Hinobaan RHU reported 15 new cases on June 16, bringing to 24 the number of Covid-19 active infections in the town.
Of the 167 confirmed cases in Hinobaan, 136 have recovered.
Meanwhile, EB Magalona Mayor Marvin Malacon also issued an executive order prescribing stringent measures to curb the recent surge of Covid cases in the town.
He reported an increase of confirmed cases, from 275 on April 8, to 457 cases as of June 14.
SUNDAY CLOSURES
Malacon ordered the closure every Sunday of groceries, sari-sari and convenience stores, public markets, cafes, bakeshops, hardware and construction supply, laundry shops, gyms, pawnshops, money transfer service centers, and all other non-essential establishments, for disinfection.
Exempted are drug stores and pharmacies, dental and medical clinics, gasoline and water-refilling stations, he added.
Malacon also ordered barangay captains to ensure compliance with the temporary closure of beach resorts and related facilities from June 23 to 25.*
