The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) reported the confiscation of more than P1.5 million worth of suspected shabu from five arrested drug suspects in anti-drug operations during the Holy Week.
The anti-drug operation conducted on Maundy Thursday by Police Station 2 operatives at Purok Narra Baybay in Barangay 8, Bacolod City, led to the confiscation of about 150 grams of suspected shabu with a market value of P1,020,000.
Four drug suspects, identified by the BCPO only through their aliases as Erika, Rolinda, Sherwin, and Xerxes, were nabbed during a buy bust operation led by P/Maj. Eugene Tolentino.
The operation was followed by another buy bust operation on Black Saturday at Purok Pedring in Brgy. Estefania, Bacolod City, where operatives of the BCPO Drug Enforcement Unit recovered an estimated 65 grams of suspected shabu valued at P442,000 where a certain Albert was apprehended by the police.
On Good Friday, the arrest of a drug suspect, alias Leo, at Purok Cogon 3, in Barangay Alimango, Escalante City, yielded about 4.76 grams of suspected shabu with a market value of P32,368.
Another drug suspect, alias Arvin, 20-year-old laborer, was apprehended by the police on April 18 at Hacienda Fe in Barangay Batuan, La Carlota City, for violation of RA 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002.
The arrest yielded a gram of suspected shabu valued at P6,800. However, his companion, an alias Rover, managed to escape during the buy bust operation.*
