The House of Representatives yesterday approved House Bill 10463 on third and final reading, which seeks to increase the bed capacity of the Teresita Lopez Jalandoni Provincial Hospital in Silay City, Negros Occidental.
Third District Rep. Jose Francisco Benitez, who authored HB 10463, disclosed last night that the “upgrading TLJPH will enhance its capacity to address the healthcare needs of Negrenses.”
The bill proposes to increase the bed capacity of TLJPH from 100 beds to 300 beds and upgrade its services and facilities and authorize the increase of its medical personnel.
The increase in bed capacity of TLJPH will be implemented for a period of not more than three years, with its funding to be included in the annual General Appropriations Act.
To prevent the unnecessary loss of life, TLJPH urgently needs an augmentation in its facilities and personnel to meet the high demand of health care in Negros Occidental, Benitez said.*
