Acacia Hotel Bacolod held its Christmas Tree Lighting and Thanksgiving celebration Wednesday with the unveiling of its “Christmas Tree of Hope” for the benefit of the children of the Bacolod Girls Home Foundation.

Leading the ceremonial switch on were Bacolod Vice Mayor Claudio Puentevella, BREDCO president Edith Alcantara, BREDCO director Willy Au, Bacolod Girls Home Foundation director Ellen Lagtapon, Acacia Hotel resident manager Gigi Guevarra, Bacolod City Tourism Chief Operations Office Ma. Teresa Manalili, and Miss Universe Philippines Bacolod Megan Larisse Baldevia.

“Tonight, we gather not only to witness the glow of lights that will brighten our hotel, but also to celebrate the light that shines within each of us, the light of kindness, generosity, and hope. This season reminds us that true abundance is not measured by what we have, but by what we share. And tonight, our celebration takes on deeper meaning as all proceeds will go to the Bacolod Girls Home Foundation, a beacon of hope and empowerment for young girls who deserve a future filled with opportunity and love,” Guevarra said in her message.

“By being here, you are helping light their path forward. As we illuminate our Christmas tree, may it serve as a powerful symbol, that even a single spark of compassion can brighten countless lives. Let this moment remind us that together, we can make this season not just merry, but truly meaningful. Thank you for being part of this evening of giving, gratitude, and grace. May the spirit of Christmas continue to inspire us all to share light, love, and hope, not only tonight, but every day,” she said.

Catherine Gonzalez, Acacia Hotel sales manager, encouraged everyone to purchase a “Christmas Ball of Hope” and write a message for the girls, before hanging it on the tree. “Every ball you purchase is more than a decoration, it is a gift of hope, care, and comfort for the girls who deserve a bright tomorrow.”*
