Hotels, restaurants all set for MassKara

More than 100 of the city’s hospitality stakeholders met with the Bacolod Yuhum Foundation (BYF) and officials of the Hotel and Restaurant Association of Negros Occidental (HRANO) to discuss preparations for the upcoming MassKara Festival 2024, a press release from Bacolod Yuhum Foundation (BYF) said.

In a conference held at Stonehill Suites yesterday, the BYF took charge in briefing the group with the different activities slated for this year’s festivities.

The Foundation also prompted establishments to provide good services, cleanliness of the facilities and the readiness of the hospitality sector to accommodate the influx of local and foreign visitors come October.

“A lot of players are coming in. We have prepared more events and activities this year, so I am expecting that they will take care of their own businesses. Decorate more, invest in their places and elevate the game,” said MassKara chairman Jojie Dingcong as he reminded the sector to put their best foot forward and give visitors something to look forward to next year.

More than 215,000 guests arrived in Bacolod in a span of three days, in anticipation of the highlights of the MassKara Festival last year, according to the Department of Tourism (DOT).

Dingcong said they are expecting more visitors this year.

BYF President and Festival Director for Finance, Admin, Concerts, Events and Fair Katherine Matiling, Secretary and Festival Director for Cultural and Accredited Events Kuster Cadagat and Treasurer and Festival Director for Good Governance, Finance, Procurement and Admin Jericho Redil were present in the meeting alongside Bacolod City Tourism Officer Teresa Manalili.*
