Hundreds continue to flock to the Commission on Elections- Bacolod Satellite Office yesterday as the September 30 deadline of the continuing voter’s registration draws near.
Wilfredo Geolingo, head of Task Force Displina, said about 700 applicants were not accommodated by the Comelec yesterday since the maximum number it could cater to is only 200.
Geolingo said the applicants were issued queue cards and that a separate lane was provided by the Comelec for persons with disability, senior citizens and pregnant women.
He said they helped Comelec in distributing the numbers and those in excess of 200 were sent home so those queuing could maintain the required minimum health protocols. This is also to ensure those who could not be accommodated won’t be soaked in the rain.
As much as they want everyone accommodated, they had no choice but to obey the order of the Comelec, Geolingo added.*
