A subject of a drug buy-bust operation evaded arrest early Thursday morning, in Purok Magtiayon, Barangay 10, Bacolod City.
The operation, conducted by the Bacolod City Drug Enforcement Unit took place past 1 a.m.
The suspect identified only as alias “Mekik,” 33, is considered a high-value individual (HVI), known for selling and possessing illegal drugs, is also a resident of the area.
Bacolod City Police Office stated that the suspect managed to escape after realizing his transaction partner was an undercover police officer.
The subject reportedly pushed the poseur-buyer and fled the scene through a hole used for an air conditioning unit.
Despite the suspect’s escape, the police successfully recovered approximately 60 grams of suspected shabu valued at P408,000.
Police said that even though the suspect remains at large, he will still be charged with violating Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Follow-up operations are underway to locate and apprehend the suspect.*
