Authorities arrested a suspected high-value target and seized over P428,000 worth of suspected shabu during a joint buy-bust operation in Barangay Sta. Rosa, Murcia, Negros Occidental, on Wednesday afternoon.
The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) identified the suspect as alias ‘Nonong,’ 50, jobless, and a resident of Purok Kagaykay, Barangay 2, Bacolod City.
He is classified by law enforcement as a notorious drug pusher and a high-value target.
The operation was conducted at around 5:20 p.m. at Purok Old Bario in Barangay Sta. Rosa.
It was spearheaded by the PDEA RO-NIR Regional Special Enforcement Team, alongside the PDEA RO-NIR SIU/AIU Negros Occidental, the Murcia Municipal Police Station, and the Coast Guard Intelligence Unit – Northern Negros Occidental.
Confiscated from the suspect were 15 heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing approximately 63 grams of suspected shabu.
Also recovered was the buy-bust money, a black sling bag, an Android cellular phone, a red Suzuki Multicab, and P12,000 in cash, which authorities believe to be proceeds from illegal drug transactions.
The suspect is facing charges for violations of Sections 5 and 11, Article II of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.*
