Meetings, gatherings, and other school-related activities will now be properly accommodated with a larger multi-purpose building at Negros Occidental National Agro-Industrial School of Home Industries (NONAISHI), in Hinigaran, Negros Occidental.

The P2.4 million rehabilitation works include the construction of covered court expansion and bleachers undertaken by Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Negros Occidental 2nd District Engineering Office.

It also completed the construction of the one-storey, three-classroom building at Binalbagan Elementary School (BES), in Binalbagan, Negros Occidental.

Citing from the reports of District Engineer Allan Rey Pajimna, Regional Director Nerie Bueno said the P4.9 million BES building was built to cater more students and to address classroom insufficiency.

Bueno said the project in Hinigaran, which includes the construction columns, beams, structural steel trusses, purlins, and pre-painted metal sheet, would allow school personnel and students to use the facility in a more convenient and conducive space while conducting their school activities.

“We are pleased to turn over the completed rehabilitation of the facility in one of the schools in Hinigaran, Negros Occidental. These additional infrastructures are essential for students and school staff to perform and conduct their school activities,” Bueno said, adding that “with the return of face-to-face learning, DPWH ensures that we can aid students to improve their learnings and personal development with the infrastructures that we built in the department.”

Bueno said “the newly built school building in Binalbagan, Negros Occidental, is beneficial to our elementary pupils and teachers since face-to-face learning is back. Through this, we can cater the increasing number of learners going back to the school.”

“This project will also address the school’s classroom insufficiency. DPWH continues to implement essential projects towards the learning progress of the learners,” she added.

The building was turned over to school officials by DPWH, Negros Occidental 2nd DEO represented by Assistant District Engineer Roderick Turingan, and witnessed by Binalbagan local chief executives, Department of Education District Supervisor, BES General PTA president, and Supreme Pupil Government (SPG).

“DPWH Negros Occidental 2nd DEO is honored to undertake the construction of this building. We are proud to support the pupil’s learning progress for their future aspirations and careers,” Turingan said.*
