The province of Negros Occidental and Capiz ranked third with 85 cases, while Iloilo had 298 cases, recording having the most number of cases, Iloilo City trailed behind with 173 and Bacolod City with 21 cases.
PRO 6 records showed that Aklan has 82 cases, Guimaras with 53 and Antique province 27.

P/Capt Mona Guia, of the PRO 6 Women and Children Concerns Desk, said that the quarantine restrictions and liquor ban implemented during the pandemic are factors in the decrease in the number of VAWC cases.

Despite the pandemic, Menez said that the WCPD has continued with their VAWC prevention advocacy activities, the purpose of which is to constantly remind the public to report such cases to the police or the barangay.

Menez also lauded the cooperation of the Barangay VAW Desks that are actively doing their job in educating people, especially men, about the VAWC law, in support also to the efforts of all police stations in the region.*
