Philippines’ chicken inasal has secured the third spot in the TasteAtlas ‘50 Best Chicken Dishes in the World’ list as of April 2026.
The grilled chicken dish from Western Visayas earned a rating of 4.4, placing it behind only South Korea’s fried chicken and Peru’s pollo a la brasa.
Leading recommendations from food critics were Aida’s Manokan, located on San Juan Street, and Nena’s Beth at Manokan Country.
“It employs various chicken cuts marinated in a mixture of vinegar and numerous spices such as lemongrass, garlic, and ginger. During grilling, the meat is brushed with the annatto-infused oil which provides the chicken with an appetizing golden color and a unique peppery flavor,” the travel guide described.
The locations are frequently cited by food critics for maintaining the traditional flavor profiles and juicy texture associated with the regional specialty.
Other Filipino entries on the list include adobong manok, which placed 40th with a 4.1 rating.*
