Inasal place opens with art exhibit

The newly opened Aida’s Chicken at the Art District, Brgy. Mandalagan, Bacolod City, is hosting for the first time a solo exhibition featuring the works of Bacolod visual artist and entrepreneur Sherryann Quivis-Candiasan, known as “She Quivis”.

A graduate of Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Advertising from La Consolacion College Bacolod, She Quivis merges her design background with dynamic art celebrating femininity, nature, and personal narratives. Her art explores themes of womanhood, identity, and sustainability in bohemian, realist, and contemporary styles.

She works with acrylic, pen and ink, watercolor, gouache, and coffee to create expressive pieces. Her home garden inspires her art, influencing its colors and textures. Flowers are often featured in her pieces, reflecting her connection with nature.

She Quivis also creates handcrafted pieces, including mini paintings and hand-painted masks. She’s the creative force behind Ilongga Totes and Basta Ilongga, Gwapa, promoting local pride and storytelling.

As an advocate for sustainability, she uses recycled materials and eco-friendly practices in her art. She crafts jewelry from upcycled materials and handmade paper.

She Quivis collaborates with fellow artists as well through the Negros Artists Circle, Inc. (NACI) and ArtistiCrew, promoting local craftsmanship. Her art and advocacy inspire others, showcasing her commitment to creativity and community. Through her work, She shares her unique perspective and passion for art, an artist statement said.*
