Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson yesterday distributed P677,000 in cash incentives to the Palarong Pambansa medalists of Negros Occidental.
Gold medalists received P5,000 for each medal; silver medalists received P3,000, and bronze medalists received P1,000 each.
Negrense athletes won 106 gold medals, 31 silver medals, and 54 bronze medals.
The most bemedaled athlete was given another P5,000, and the record-breaker athletes received an additional P5,000.
The trainers were also given incentives worth a total of P85,000 from the provincial government.
The Palarong Pambansa was recently held in Marikina City.*
