Indian national faces multiple charges for Good Friday crash

• GILBERT P. BAYORAN

Police filed on Monday charges of reckless imprudence resulting in multiple homicide and serious multiple physical injuries, as well as damage to property against an Indian national, for the death of three persons and injuries to 16 others who were participating in a Good Friday procession in Barangay Alangilan, Bacolod City.

Facing multiple charges before the Bacolod City Prosecutor’s Office is Jagpret Singh, 37, of Brgy. Villamonte, Bacolod City.

Singh was reported by the police as the driver of the Toyota Innova vehicle that triggered a road crash involving multiple vehicles in Brgy. Alangilan, Bacolod City.

P/Col. Joeresty Coronica, Bacolod City Police Office director, clarified that they have two witnesses to prove that Singh was driving the Toyota Innova, contrary to information being spread in the social media.

The Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Parish and Shrine in Brgy. Alangilan, in tandem with partner organizations and volunteers, is holding a Psychological First Aid (PFA) session for the survivors and witnesses of the tragedy at 8 a.m. on April 22.*
