Lady cagers of Indonesia drew first blood against Singapore, 66-49, in the opening game of the FIBA U18 Women’s Asia Cup – SEABA Qualifiers held yesterday at the STI West Negros University Gymnasium in Bacolod City.
Indonesia set the tempo early, dominating Singapore to build a commanding 32-19 lead by halftime.
The team sustained the pressure through a 17-11 third-quarter run, Singapore showed a late spark with a 19-17 fourth quarter, but the game was already wrapped up by then.
“We will focus on defense because we can maintain the score and we already take the lead. Nothing to rush, no need to hurry […] we just maintain our focus on defense. If we maintain our defense, the game will be good for us,” said Amin Prihantono, coach of team Indonesia.
