Stressing that insurgency-related incidents are confined in the hinterland areas, investors still come to invest in Himamaylan City, Mayor Raymund Tongson disclosed.
Tongson said that the series of encounters between government troops and New People’s Army rebels and killings in the upland areas is not affecting the overall peace and order situation of Himamaylan, as it has not spread to other barangays, especially its urban areas.
He dismissed insurgency-related violence as isolated cases.
With more investors are putting up businesses in Himamaylan City, is a proof that they are confident in our administration, Tongson stressed.
Military records indicate that insurgency-related activities usually take place at the hinterland barangay of Buenavista, and the upland sitios of Brgy. Carabalan, Himamaylan City.
Tongson added that the city government is also creating more events for the people to enjoy, and at the same time create livelihood opportunities.*
