The Italian embassy has approved the visa application of 12 MassKara dancers that will showcase in Milan during the Philippine Independence Day celebration, Caesar Distrito, the Mayor’s spokesperson said in a press statement.
The MassKara dancers’ visa applications were earlier denied by the embassy “due to a lack of required documentation or unclear personal situation.”
Bacolod Councilor Jason Villarosa, chairperson of the SP Committee on Tourism and International Relations, has also issued an apology letter addressed to the Italian Embassy due to a misunderstanding and miscommunication related to the denial of their visa.
Mayor Albee Benitez, who is personally sponsoring the expenses of the dancers and the delegation, also extended his appreciation to the DFA and the Italian Embassy for assisting the application and the eventual approval of the MassKara dancers’ visa.
The Bacolod MassKara Dancers will perform in Milan as guest performers, upon the invitation of the Philippine Consulate Office, on the occasion of the Philippine Independence Day Celebration which will be witnessed by the Filipino Community and Italians.*
