Javi files 36 bills in 2 days

In his first two days as congressman of the Negros Occidental 3rd district, Javier Miguel Benitez filed 36 bills at the House of Representatives.

The proposed legislative measures are aligned with our vision to create more inclusive and sustainable communities here in our district and beyond, Benitez said in a statement.

Benitez added that the 26 bills he filed on July 1 are directed toward digital transformation, dignified human settlements, climate resilience, eco-tourism, good governance, health access, and social justice.

Among the proposed bills were the establishment of the Negros Occidental High School for sports in E.B. Magalona, as well as High School for Arts and Design, declaring the Gawahon Eco- Park in Victorias City as a tourist destination, as well as Mt. Kanlandog in Murcia and Sitio Pulak-Pulakan in Barangay San Fernando in Talisay City, as eco-tourism zones;

Creation of additional trial courts in Victorias and Silay Cities, as well as establishing on-site, in-city, near-city, or off-city local government resettlement program for informal settlers, establishment of a Professional Regulation Commission Service Center in Victorias City, establishing Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) Training and Assessment Center in Murcia.

Other proposed bills filed by Benitez are focused on agriculture, education, health, innovation, and sustainability.*
