The Land Transportation Office – Negros Island Region (LTO-NIR) formally issued a Show Cause Order to a modernized jeepney operator in Bacolod City following a reported traffic safety violation.
The order was served by the Intelligence and Investigation Unit after video evidence surfaced showing a driver using a mobile phone while operating the vehicle.
The incident, which took place on March 16, involved the vehicle engaging in unsafe lane-switching maneuvers that created a hazardous situation for other motorists.
While the driver was not present during the enforcement action, the transport corporation’s Human Resources Officer officially received the order on his behalf.
The agency ensured the gravity of the violation was clearly explained, emphasizing that distracted driving directly endangers public safety and violates existing traffic regulations.
LTO-NIR reiterates its strict commitment to road safety and reminds all public utility drivers to adhere to traffic laws to protect lives on the road.*
