A job order casual of the Bacolod City government was arrested by operatives of Police Station 5 in a drug buy-bust operation in Brgy. 27, Bacolod City yesterday.
Station 5 commander, P/Capt. John Christopher Magsangkay, said they arrested Jason Benal, 37, of Purok Cereza 2, Brgy. 27, near his house after he handed a sachet of suspected shabu in exchange for P500 to a police poseur buyer.
Magsangkay said 12 additional sachets of suspected shabu, weighing four grams and with a market value of P24,000, were recovered from Benal after his arrest.
Benal has been working as a job order casual of the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office Flood Control Division for two months now, CDRRMO head, Joemarie Vargas, told the DAILY STAR.
Vargas admitted that Benal was hired without following the hiring procedures and with lacking documents, such as a police clearance, since they were in a hurry filling up the vacant positions in their office.*
