Two-time Grammy Award winner Julian Marley is scheduled to perform at the Acacia Hotel Convention Hall in Bacolod City on May 24.
The event, featuring Marley, son of reggae musician Bob Marley, and his band The Uprising, marks the first time a member of the Marley family will perform in the Visayas.
Organizer Augusto Chavez of the Palawan Sound Project said that Bacolod is the only stop on the artist’s Philippine itinerary following his performance at the Malasimbo Music & Arts Festival.
The concert program includes performances by local reggae groups Tropical Depression and The Wicked Tarsiers.
A portion of the ticket proceeds is designated to support the Kalipay Negrense Foundation, which assists at-risk children, and the Centre for Sustainability, an environmental advocacy organization.
Tickets are currently being distributed through Ticketmelon, as well as physical locations at Gutterground (Art District), Coffee Culture, and Lunar.*
