Due to a personal grudge between family members, a man stabbed his elder brother and their father, inside their residence at Sitio Kabayabasan, Barangay Montilla in Moises Padilla, Negros Occidental on Wednesday.
The suspect was named as Sunny Boy Villaber Jr., of legal age, while the victims were his father, Sunny Boy Villaber Sr., a 78-year-old laborer, and his older brother, Marvin Villaber.
Based on the Moises Padilla Municipal Police Station, the initial investigation disclosed that at around 6:30 p.m., the suspect, while having a drinking session at his residence together with his father-in-law, and then went to the house of his older sibling and father, who were also drinking.
For still unknown reasons and without provocation, Sunny Boy Jr. suddenly attacked his brother Marvin with a bladed weapon, hitting him on the head, right shoulder, and buttocks.
During the commotion, their father, Sunny Boy Sr., tried to pacify the suspect but was likewise hacked on the head, resulting in injuries.
After the crime, the suspect immediately fled and was not apprehended by the police, as the incident was reported late and the police station was about 30 kilometers away from the area.
The victims were rescued and rushed by the Moises Padilla Rescue Team to the Moises Padilla Infirmary and were later transferred to Isabela District Hospital for further medical treatment.
Moises Padilla MPS is currently in coordination with the officials of Brgy. Montilla to conduct an investigation with the victims and witnesses, to gather additional information for filing the appropriate case against the suspect.
The police are conducting a hot pursuit operation for the possible arrest of the suspect.
SENIOR CITIZEN STABBED
On the same day, a 72-year-old senior citizen farmer was stabbed by his alleged companion at Sitio Lugway, Barangay Caradio-an in Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental.
Based on the investigation of the Himamaylan Component City Police Office, the victim was in his farm, when he was stabbed by the suspect, without any apparent reason, hitting him on the left portion of his body.
According to the victim, a misunderstanding occurred between him and the suspect a week prior to the incident.
The suspect was identified as alias, “JP,” a jobless married man from Sitio Malusay, Barangay Caradio-an.
The victim survived the stabbing and is currently in stable condition. However, the police are conducting a hot pursuit operation for the possible arrest of the suspect.*
