The National Youth Commission, together with the Bacolod City Government, Office of Vice Mayor El Cid Familiaran, Bacolod Environment and Natural Resources Office, and Sangguniang Kabataan Federation will conduct a two-day “Just Energy Transition Workshop” on July 18 to 19.
The first day will be held at the NWTF Building at 102 San Sebastian, Verbena St., and the second day will be at the Bacolod City Government Center.
The theme “Pathways to Local Policy and Climate Action” offers young leaders the opportunity to engage with experts, collaborate with peers, and contribute to the drafting of effective local policies toward climate action and a just energy transition.
The working objective of the Just Transition Workshop is to improve knowledge among Local Policymakers, Sangguniang Kabataan members, Environmental Advocates, and the Local Youth Development Council about Just Energy Transition (JET) principles and their roles in climate justice.
Organizations that supported the program include Negros Women for Tomorrow Foundation (NWTF), Negrosanon Initiative for Climate and the Environment (NICE), Negrosanon Young Leaders Institute (NYLI), Youth Empowering Youth Initiative (YEY), Reboot Philippines, Bacolod Sectoral Youth Affairs, and 3ZERO Network.
