Three houses were damaged after a fire broke out at Sitio Pitgong, Barangay Oringao, in Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental on Monday.
Two houses were reported to be totally damaged while the other was partially damaged. Aside from these, three motorcycles owned by the residents in the area also reportedly caught fire during the incident.
Initial investigation of the Kabankalan City Bureau of Fire Protection revealed that their neighbor heard an explosion of a circuit breaker within one of the three houses that was destroyed, before the fire broke out.
When the firefighters reached the area, which is located in the upland area of Kabankalan City, the fire had already destroyed the houses that were mostly made of light materials.
Kabankalan BFP clarified that they were not able to respond early since the incident was reported late and the area is not passable to fire trucks.
Damage to property reached P20,000, BFP said.*
