Kabankalan’s Udyakan fest dance competition winners named

Tampalon National High School made history by being declared champion of the Udyakan Festival 2025 Arena Dance Competition, held last Saturday afternoon, as part of Kabankalan City’s 28th Charter Anniversary celebration on August 2.

This marks the first time Tampalon National High School has claimed the championship trophy in the festival’s dance competition. The winning contingent took home P60,000 in cash prizes and P600,000 worth of projects. Additionally, the school secured the Best in Street Dancing special award. 

Tapi National High School was named first runner-up, while Tabugon National High School earned second runner-up, along with several special awards: Best in Production Design, Best in Costume, and Best in Choreography.

Meanwhile, Tan-awan National High School and Inapoy National High School received third and fourth runners-up honors, respectively.

Fourth runner-up, Inapoy National High School*

Bantayan National High School was also recognized, winning the Best in Tribal Banner special award.

The street dance competition was held Friday afternoon, with thirteen secondary schools participating. The street dance started from Kabankalan Catholic College towards the City public plaza.

Mayor Benjie Miranda presented the trophies and cash prizes during the awarding ceremony at the Kabankalan public plaza during the highlights of the City’s Charter Anniversary.*
