The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) reported three ash emission events on Monday, December 22, at the summit crater of Kanlaon Volcano.
PHIVOLCS said that the volcano emitted ash between 9:01 a.m. to 9:29 a.m., 10:29 a.m. to 11:07 a.m., and the latest at 8:31 p.m. to 9:10 p.m.
“These events generated grayish plumes that rose to 300 meters above the crater before drifting northwest,” the agency reports said.
PHIVOLCS logged one volcanic earthquake and released 2,578 tons of sulfur dioxide on Sunday.
Alert Level 2 remains in effect over Mount Kanlaon.*
