The restiveness of Kanlaon Volcano continues as it spewed ash twice on January 3, which indicated a sign that magma is rising, as reported by the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology.
In a bulletin, PHIVOLCS said it recorded two ash emission events, which lasted to a maximum of one hour and four minutes.
Grayish plumes rose up to 300 meters above the crater and drifted southwest.
PHIVOLCS also logged three volcanic quakes.
Alert Level 2 is in effect over Kanlaon Volcano, and entry into the 4-kilometer permanent danger zone remains strictly prohibited.*
