A stabbing incident in front of the SM South Wing, Rizal Street, Barangay 12, on Wednesday afternoon is being investigated by the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) as the culmination of an old personal grudge between the two men involved.
The attack, which occurred around 4:35 p.m., involved victim alias ‘RG,’ 35, resident of Barangay 14, and the suspect, alias ‘Fern,’ 35, a resident of Barangay Tangub.
The BCPO Station 1 immediately rushed the victim, who suffered multiple stab wounds, to the hospital.
The police apprehended the suspect with the assistance of bystanders and the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group.
Authorities recovered a blood-stained stainless steel knife from the suspect’s possession and believe the confrontation was not a random act of violence but the sudden, violent overflow of a long-simmering feud between the two Bacolod residents who are the same age.
The suspect is now in police custody for proper disposition as the investigation continues to confirm the exact nature and history of the conflict.*
