The Kilusan Ng Nagkakaisang Pilipino, a movement being led by Bacolod City Mayor Alfredo Abelardo “Albee” Benitez in Negros Occidental, is now accepting members.
Benitez, who is among its convenors, said he is helping KNP in promoting “unity and teamwork,” which he added are a “solution to the problems of the country.”
“We are open to membership for those who believe that what the country needs is teamwork and unity,” he stressed.
Majority of Visayan bloc solons, where Benitez also served as its convenor, are members of KNP.
The movement already has thousands of members in the country, composed of political leaders and sectoral groups, Benitez said.
A group of lawmakers formally launched the KNP on July this year to heed President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.’s call for unity, reject politics of division, and be a unifying factor to achieve the government’s development goals.
“This movement acknowledges no political boundaries. Everybody who cares for the welfare of the Filipino people is welcome, especially those who are committed to support President Marcos’s formula of unity in achieving what is best for this country,” said Benitez.*
