“Public service is not measured by promises made, but by actions delivered.”
Those were the words of La Carlota City Mayor Jose Luis Jalandoni as he delivered to the “Mangkasanons”, a local term referring to the people of the city, on Friday at the City’s Public Plaza.
Jalandoni highlighted in his report accomplishments on health, social welfare, infrastructure, livelihood, and disaster readiness under a governance which champions “no one left behind, everyone helped.”
Right after he assumed his post, Jalandoni’s term was challenged with the ongoing restiveness of the Kanlaon Volcano. Based on his report, the city extended P1.95 million in cash and relief aid to families affected by the eruption of Kanlaon Volcano and Typhoon Crising.
The mayor also highlighted a notable expansion of forces for the Public Safety Unit (PSU), which now has 202 personnel, citing the need for wider coverage to ensure the safety of Mangkasanons at all times.
With his environmental protection efforts, the city planted over 160 trees, dispersed 400 seedlings, and mobilized Bantay Lasang patrols, he reported.
Moreover, he also proudly presented to the public the results of his grassroots sports initiative, which has now drawn attention and led the enthusiasts to the international stage.
Notably, proud Mangkasanon Carlos Baylon Jr, who delivered a breakout performance at the International Wushu Federation (IWUF) 10th Sanda World Cup in Jiangyin, China, anchored a one-gold, two-bronze haul for the country. This was proudly presented by Jalandoni during his report.
Furthermore, he showed to the public the current financial report from various offices in the city hall, expressing the transparency of his administration.
“Our commitment remains firm. Wala Pinili-an – no one will be left behind. Tanan Buligan – everyone will be helped,” Jalandoni stressed.*
